Definition of a Hate/Bias Motivated Incident

An incident based on a real or perceived difference of sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, age, gender, class or ability status.

Reporting hate-motivated incident does not in itself constitute a formal complaint nor compel one to file a formal complaint of misconduct.
