New Faces in College Offices
University College
Doug Orr joined University College as an academic advisor this July after serving a twenty year career as an Army officer. Doug is a native of Cambridge, Ohio and attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for his undergraduate degree. His specialty in the Army was tactical and strategic intelligence, and he earned a Masters degree in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College in Washington, DC. During his military career, he was stationed in a variety of locations, including Hawaii, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, and Arizona, and he was able to travel extensively overseas, primarily in the Pacific basin area. Doug first came to OU in the summer of 2000 as the Professor of Military Science for the Army ROTC program. Doug so enjoyed working with the cadets in ROTC and being part of the Athens and OU communities that he was very excited to be able to rejoin the University College staff upon the completion of his military career.
