NACADA Recognizes AAC Website
Tanya Barnett, University College, Dave Hannum, Computer Services, and Betty Hollow, Academic Advancement Center, will be honored for their interactive study tips website,
http://studytips.aac.ohiou.edu/, by the National Academic Advising Association at its annual conference in October. The Advising Technology Innovation Award is given to the best examples of advising technology, with sites which exhibit interactivity and accessibility. Other winners this year include Western New Mexico Univiersity, Ohio Learning Network, University of South Florida, and The University of Georgia. Ohio University gains membership into the New Media Consortium
In Spring Quarter, Ohio University was accepted as a member into the New Media Consortium (NMC) in recognition of its innovative approaches toward the use of technology.
The NMC, an international not-for-profit consortium of approximately 200 leading colleges, universities, museums, corporations and other learning-focused organizations, is dedicated to the exploration and use of new media and technologies.
As a member of the NMC, Ohio University will join the ranks of such distinguished private universities as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and leading state research universities such as UCLA, Texas and Michigan.
With support from Bill Sams, Associate Provost for information technology, D.Lee Beard, computer learning lab manager for University College. authored the application for membership into the NMC. The application highlighted much of the latest technology at Ohio University.
