 | University mourns student death The Ohio University community is mourning the loss of Andrea Robinson, who passed away at a Columbus hospital Wednesday of complications from bacterial meningitis. A Cleveland Heights native, Robinson, 18, was a freshman in University College.

 | Student hospitalized with probable bacterial meningitis An Ohio University student is under observation for a probable case of bacterial meningitis. Her family has given permission to share her name with the university community in order for students, faculty and staff to make the best decision about preventative care. At this time, first-year student Andrea Robinson, resident of Wray House, has been admitted to a hospital in Columbus.

 | Student believed to have bacterial meningitis An Ohio University sophomore is under observation for a probable case of bacterial meningitis. The male student, who lives in Bromley Hall, was admitted yesterday to a medical facility in Columbus.

 | Dads come to campus This weekend, Ohio University students will participate in a campus tradition that has been celebrated for decades -- Dads Weekend. Dads are invited to campus to bond with their students and to take part in the activities the university has planned.
|  | Ohio University welcomes Broadway musical "The Drowsy Chaperone" The most celebrated musical of the 2006 Broadway season, "The Drowsy Chaperone," a completely original musical comedy, is coming to Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, as part of the 2009-10 Performing Arts Series.

 | Event Services' annual event expands scope Planning a campus event will soon be easier than ever at Ohio University, thanks to a fresh twist in Event Services' annual showcase event. The Event Expo (formerly known as the On Campus Services Resource Fair), which takes place Jan. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. in Baker University Center's Grand Ballroom, expects to draw more than 20 vendors and up to 200 attendees.
|  | Residence Challenge kicks off Jan. 18 Ohio University's flagship energy conservation competition -- Residence Challenge 2010 -- will take place Jan. 18 through March 7. In its 10th year, the annual intra-university competition pits university residence halls against one another in a race to reduce electricity consumption.

 | Hudson renovations complete Hudson Health Center underwent renovations over the winter break to make it more efficient. Paint was applied, new examination tables were brought in and the use of space was reexamined. The goal? To decrease patient waits and increase satisfaction.
|  | New leadership series for students starts Wednesday The Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center will offer of a new leadership opportunity for all Ohio University students called the 21st Century Leadership Series beginning Wednesday.

 | Federal grant to allow the hire of full-time survivor advocate Survivors of sexual assault at Ohio University will soon have a professional advocate and additional sexual assault education and support services at their disposal thanks to a three-year, $300,000 U.S. Department of Justice grant recently issued to the university.

 | Local artist to host campus reception on Friday Athens-area artist Mamerto Tindongan will host a campus reception for his exhibit "Wood Shaping Me" from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, in the Baker University Center Multicultural Center Art Gallery. The free exhibit will run through Nov. 20.

 | Greeks taking H1N1 precautions With the H1N1 Influenza A virus becoming a growing concern on college campuses across the nation, Greek organizations are taking extra precautions to prevent the type of outbreak that has temporarily closed several universities across the nation.

 | New sexual assault guidelines in place Last spring, Ohio University adopted new sexual assault sanctioning guidelines and a newly formed campus coalition is now working to effectively communicate the guidelines to students.
During the summer, Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi formed the Relationship and Sexual Violence Coalition to educate the campus community about the new guidelines and the sanctions they carry.
