Seuss-a-Paloossa? Ooey-Gooey Science? (06/30/2008) This summer, three of Ohio University's regional campuses welcome students, from kindergartners to eighth-graders, to have fun while they learn. The Chillicothe, Lancaster and Southern campuses have offered opportunities for younger students to explore and create for more than 20 years. New this summer: the Southern campus' Ohio Horse Park will give young horse lovers a chance to learn horsemanship skills.

One South Green paint job, however, is far from ordinary. Artist Douglas Arnold returned to Ohio University June 23-27 to restore a mural he painted as a resident of Weld Hall in 1972.

This year, that student was senior Paula Bartlett, an organizational communications major who is using the opportunity as her senior thesis project.

Balancing act (06/13/2008) Coming from the tiny town of Bascom in northwest Ohio, Carime Reinhart has made a big name for herself at Ohio University. The graduating senior, who boasts a 3.9 grade point average, helped bring the university's cross country team from last- and near-last-place finishes in the Mid-American Conference to two consecutive MAC team championships (the first since 1997) during her junior and senior years.

'I like to be a protagonist' (06/11/2008) Roy Caple has always lived life front and center. It should come as no surprise, then, that the 81-year-old Caple took the unorthodox step of moving to Athens from his home in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, to pursue a master's degree in Spanish two years ago. Many rigorous courses later, he is ready to collect his diploma this Friday during Ohio University's graduate commencement ceremony.

For Kayser, the past two years have meant long nights of studying, a seemingly endless stream of work and the need to sacrifice time with friends and family. Grace under fire: Mesfin Shibeshi, D.O. (06/06/2008) From growing up in war-torn Ethiopia to scuba diving in Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Mesfin Shibeshi has a high tolerance for intensity and an appetite for challenge. But his life's greatest excitement and satisfaction, he says, has come from practicing medicine. Shibeshi will earn his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree Saturday from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

A journey to remember (05/22/2008) Charles Simonyi's trip to the International Space Station in April 2007 made him the fifth space tourist and second Hungarian in space.
