Since 1968, the Department of Modern Languages at Ohio University has offered a study abroad program in Salzburg, Austria. This 10 week Spring Quarter program gives students the opportunity to earn 16 German credit hours in an intensive program based at the University of Salzburg, with courses in German language, and Austrian culture and literature. Courses are taught by Ohio University and local faculty, and students live in a university dorm, sharing a room with another Ohio University student. The program is open to all students of German at all levels (minimum of German 112 before departing). During the program, students will make numerous excursions to locations in and around Salzburg and will make group trips to Vienna and to Munich and Cologne in Germany. During free weekends, students have the opportunity to travel and often visit Venice, Prague, Budapest, Berlin, and Rome.
