• Statement of purpose demonstrating knowledge of our program and the discipline of communication studies. The goals statement should analyze how the applicant fits with our program.

• Types: Most doctoral students receive teaching assistantships; some receive research or graduate assistantships, up to 13 annually, all with tuition waiver.

Additional Information
Ph.D. study in one of three tracks: (a) Relating and Organizing (an integrated track for the study of organizational and interpersonal communication), (b) Health Communication, and (c) Rhetoric and Public Culture. Very strong reputation with top ten rankings in organizational and health communication and top 20 rankings in interpersonal and rhetoric according to the most recent reputation study conducted by the National Communication Association. We actively recruit and admit applicants who contribute to the conceptual, methodological, and cultural diversity practiced by our school.
