The broad charge to the University International Council (UIC) is to initiate, foster, coordinate, evaluate and effectively communicate the international activities of the University. The UIC will propose and monitor guidelines and priorities for the University's international activities regarding the following issues: International Linkages, International Student and Faculty Issues, International Faculty Professional Travel, Study Abroad, and Internationalizing the Curriculum.
The University International Council recommends policy and courses of action to the Director of the Center of International Studies, the Provost, and the President.
Appointments will be made by the President from nominations presented by the Committee on Committees. The faculty appointments are based on recommendations from the Faculty Senate Executive Committee based on nominations from the dean of each college. Each dean will nominate at least two faculty for each position.

Students: 1 graduate, 1 undergraduate, President of International Students Association (Total of 3)
Administrators: Associate Director of Center for International Studies, Director of OPIE, Director of Education Abroad, 1 representative each from: OGSS, Office of International Faculty Student Services, Admissions, University Advancement, and the Library. The Director of the Center of International Studies services as a non-voting ex-officio member. (Total of 8 voting)
