She had already earned a Master of Sciences in Business and Economics from the University of Pécs, and there were less-expensive MBA programs available to her in Hungary.
“They are theory based,” said Pinter, which “provides a great foundation.” The Ohio MBA program offered an attractive “pragmatic, project-based, team-based approach working with real clients.” She added that she “was really fortunate to be offered the opportunity. The combination of the two gave me a real edge, and I’m able to see the pros and cons of both types of education.”
After a very competitive process in Hungary, she was awarded a full tuition scholarship to Ohio. She also received a matching loan from her employer in Hungary, a competitor of the big four international consulting firms. While earning her MBA, she worked as an unpaid consultant at the Appalachian Regional Entrepreneurship Initiative (AERI), which is comprised of several business assistance programs providing technical assistance and training to business and community development professionals in Appalachian Ohio.
After earning her MBA, Pinter was offered a full-time position at AERI and is already giving back to the regional economy. She currently manages about 25 client projects, consulting on business and market planning, structuring companies for debt or equity, and developing action and implementation plans.
“She’s doing a great job for us,” said AERI Director Hugh Sherman. “Eva works with high growth potential business to identify new markets and sources of funding to create new jobs and increase the wealth of the region.”
