Ohio University welcomes transfer students to our student body. Admission to the university has both quantitative and qualitative requirements, which for transfer students include:

• Completion of 30 quarter hours (20 semester hours) of transferable academic credit from another regionally accredited institution. If you have completed less than 30 quarter hours, or your work has been technically or vocationally oriented, you must also meet our regular freshman admission guidelines. Students who have completed 50% or more of a major at another university will not be considered for admission to Ohio University in that same major; however, applicants may pursue a different major.
  
• A minimum 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average on all work attempted.

Special consideration is given to non-traditional students over the age of 25 or a veteran with two or more years of military service.

Transfer students applying to Ohio University must have their transcripts sent directly to Undergraduate Admissions immediately after submitting the application.

Credit Evaluations and Equivalencies
Once you are admitted, you will receive a credit transfer report approximately within two weeks after you receive your letter of admission.

This report may include some courses that have not been equated to Ohio University courses at the time credit was transferred. These equivalencies will be completed by staff within your college at Ohio University. Questions regarding equivalencies should be directed to your college office.
